Counting my blessings!

So lots has happened since my last post.
1st of all, I'm very grateful to still have a place to live. Halloween day our landlord called and wanted to talk. He broke the news to us that since he had been staying in the downstairs of our house he hadn't been feeling very good and after many test, he tested for Meth and it was positive. We then did a test upstairs and waited over a week to hear the results. The health department called and told us it was positive as well. I started packing all the important things and hid them so they couldn't take them away from me. They then called back and said that the level wasn't high enough to condemn the house so we could stay. Still kinda scary right? They said if we just wipe the walls down and have the carpets cleaned then it wouldn't test positive again b/c the levels were so low. Thank the Lord on that one.
In that week we were waiting to hear, we started looking for homes to buy. We got pre-approved and found one we liked. The more we prayed about it and then heard we could stay in our house, we never put the official offer down and have been taking our time to find the right place for us.
In the mean time, Bailey has been growing like a weed. She is now 5 months old and I can't believe it!! She sprouted over night I swear. She has learned and developed so much this past month.
Things Bailey loves to do now:
  • loves to bite on her fingers or anything she can get ahold of.
  • Drool
  • Cry when I leave the room
  • Try to eat anything and everything
  • Can say Da-da-da-da-da
  • Smile at everyone
  • Capable of rolling over but has only done it very few times
  • tries to roll off her changing mat
  • look in the mirror
  • Not sleep very long
  • when she does wake up in the middle of the night, she thinks it's time to play and talks and smiles. Only way to get her back to sleep is hold her all night and bring her in my bed for the last few hours.
  • Pull away and look at anything while nursing, yes, still attached!!!
  • Loves watching Price is Right with Mommy before taking her morning nap.
  • puckers her lips like she's giving a kiss

The list can go on and on. It seems like everyday is a new thing and I love it. Oh she hasn't been very good at giggling so I try to show her how. She now just tries to suck in air and it makes a really funny high pitch noise. I love it.

This is Bailey mesmorized by the water coming out. She loves her baths.

Bailey looks kind of funny here but this was her very first time trying the Rice cereal. She wasn't a huge fan. I give it to her every couple of days and now she is getting the hang out it.

My mom brought over this Christmas outfit. I thought it was sooo cute with the hat. haha
I love this picture. She is just too cute to handle. Gosh I love my little girl!!
THANKSGIVING:
For Thanksgiving we had it at Kyle's sister-in-laws house here in Orem. We usually in the past have had it with the whole extended Johnson family but it has just gotten too big. It was nice having it at a house rather than the church building. We ate lots and lots and then the men watched the kids and all the girls went to New Moon. (it was ehh...Alright)
Then the Saturday after, Heidi and I drove to Ogden to my Graums house and had our Thanksgiving there with my mom and Aunt.
This was way past Baileys bedtime, and my moms Halloween costume wig that she wore to dinner. lol

Can't imagine her with a full head of hair. ha
Kyle and I had his neice babysit while we went to the BYU football game. It was awesome and so nice to actually go somewhere with my husband alone. We had a blast!!

My good friend Ashley had her baby this past week. Her baby Brynlee only weighed 6lbs so she was 2 lbs lighter than Bailey. It is crazy to think in only 5 months they can grow so much.

In this Thanksgiving season, it has made me really think of all that I have and I am so grateful for all of it! I'm grateful I have a great, beautiful, healthy baby girl that brightens my life each and every day. I'm so thankful that I have a wonderful husband who really and truly is so amazing to me and Bailey. He helps out so much and never gets mad at his silly wife. I love this little family we have created and thank my Heavnely Father each day.
I'm grateful for our families and friends who are so wonderful to us and supportive.
For our health, home, and jobs.
For the gospel in my life and all it brings.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Fall Update

It's Fall time, the leaves have changed, and so has Bailey. This is a beautiful time of year although, it's getting too cold, too fast. Here is my updates:
Bailey is now 4 months of age and I am proud to announce that she is growing out of her Colicy state of life which had been pure torture. Now that those first 3 months are over, I can say that they were not my favorite!! Month 4 has brought a whole new life and attitute to our little girl. I can actually put her in her car seat and she not scream the whole entire drive. My arm loves this b/c I would drive everywhere with one arm trying to find the binkie and her mouth.
She wakes up with a smile in the mornings and we bring her into bed and lay with her while she talks, babbles, blows bubbles, and girgles now. Mornings are the best part of my day.
She actually will take naps now.
She fell asleep on her own a few times...but don't get too excited though, she was already alseep and then when she wakes, we hurry in and put the pacifier back in her mouth and cover her eyes and she can usually fall back to sleep. Otherwise, it takes an hour to nurse and rock her back to sleep.
She usually will sleep for a stretch of 6-8 hours, wake up and eat, and then go back down for 3-4 more. Can't complain!
She had her 4 month check-up today!
She is weighing in at 14 lbs. 10 ounces (75%)
heighth is 24.5 inches (60%)
head is 41.8 centimeters (75%)
Shes a growing girl! I also took her to Primary's to get her skin situation all checked out. She has Pigmentary Mosaicism, human language: she's my multi-colored child!! haha, I always wanted one. That means her skin choose to be different colors in certain areas on her body and I'm just lucky it's not all over her face. She said not to worry its just how God made Bailey :)
This was Baileys first experience with another baby. Thats Max, Kyles best friends baby, and he is 7 months old. We should thank Max b/c the night we found out Jesse and his wife were expecting, was the day we concieved Bailey! lol TMI?
Everytime Bailey would make a noise, Max thought she was upset and he would start to cry. It was cute. He's doing to take her on her 1st date, while Kyle sits on the porch with the shot gun!

Well, Kyle has now found his new passion in life. While I was at work, Bailey, Kyle and my mom went out for a little photo shoot in our backyard leaves. There were plenty to choose from but these are my favorites!!

HAHAHAHA, she totally learned that face from her mommy :)

She looks like a football player in this picture above.

Haha, just makes me laugh.

Is it cruel that my favorite ones are when she is crying and making funny faces??

Bailey decided to help daddy with the laundry and she now takes anything she can get her hands on and puts it up to her face. How cute is that?
So for Halloween we dressed her up as a Ladybug and I was her momma Ladybug. Kyle was originally supposed to be a spider man so we could all be bugs but he wore red and black so he just fit in with our costumes. Baileys cheeks were so big they were protruding out.

We went to the Allphins Halloween party that they have every year. They had home made chili and clam chowder, donuts, apple cider and rootbeer. MmmMmm.
After that we just went and hung out at Kyles parents house and then went to bed.
So this made me real excited. I went to ShopKo a few weeks back and they had this thing if you bought $25 in P&G brand items then you got this whole breast cancer awareness cooking set for FREE!!! So I used my coupons and bought diapers and a few other things and then I got this in the mail the other day. Isn't it sooooo cute?? I love it!

Anyways, so life has gotten so much better these past few weeks. Bailey is the light and love of my life. Kyle loves taking care of her when I'm off to work. They have bonded and she loves her daddy but not as much as her mommy ;)
We are also house shopping. We might have to move out of our home we live in now soon so we are looking for our perfect home to buy. Kyle is still searching for a new job and I am back to work part time at the ER and love every minute of it. We are all healthy and loving being a family of three!!

Momentous Weekend

(Happy Bailey after she threw up all over herself)

So this weekend was my only weekend off for the rest of the year so Kyle and I wanted to do something fun. We were invited to go down to St. George with friends from work but when we thought through it, it was going to be too difficult with Bailey. So Thursday night Kyles parents had their time share in Park City so we went up there and had dinner with his parents and then went back to the hotel and watched a movie. We put Bailey to bed around 8:30 in a pack and play that the hotel provided. We thought that she might not sleep very well b/c she wasn't used to those surroundings. Well, Kyle and I went to bed about 11:00 and then I suddenly woke up due to lots of pain in my chest, needing to pump. I turned and looked at the clock and it said 6:30am!!! I couldn't believe it. I looked at Kyle and I said, BAILEY IS STILL ASLEEP!! Now keep in mind, the whole week before this she was waking up every 2 hours at home. I was amazed and told Bailey many times in that day of how proud I was of her.

We came back home Friday morning so Kyle could go to work. Then our friends Karen and Phil invited us up to their family cabin near Strawberry Resevior. We packed up again and headed up Friday night. The cabin was beautiful and we had dinner, put Bailey to bed, and played games all night. Same thing...woke up the next morning at 6:30, Bailey made it through another night!!! We thought this was a fluke, but it was for real!

(These are Phil and Karens 3 girls: Sierra, Savanna, and Sydney playing with Bailey.)

Saturday morning Kyle and Phil went out hunting while us girls woke up, made breakfast, hung out, went for a walk, made lunch, hung out, sat outside in the nice weather, and started making dinner. The boys arrived home after shooting a 4 point deer. We ate dinner, put Bailey to bed around 7:30, played games, went to bed. When I crawled into bed I thought I heard Bailey on the monitor so I ran into the room and she was sound asleep. Must have been talking in her sleep. I crawled back into bed and didn't wake up again until 6:30!!! My sweet baby made it through 3 nights, not at home.
(Phils deer he shot opening morning of the rifle hunt. He made Kyle do all the dirty work, lol. Its sexy to watch a man skin a deer :)

(Daddy took her on a Rhino ride while Karen and I finished cleaning the house)

She is asleep now in her own crib. She has woken up once b/c I made a loud noise, but we shall see if this wonderful sleep pattern will last. I am a new women with 3 nights of full sleep. Bailey is also growing out of her colic. She still cries a little more than most babies but she is such a cute and adorable baby. She is now babbling, blowing bubble, and starting to kinda giggle when playing. This month has been so much fun watching her learn and grow. I'm glad the crying is settling down, it is much easier to handle a happy baby :)

(tired Bailey after the Rhino ride)

It was a good get away where we could just sit around and relax. The weather was beautiful and we appreciate the hospitality of Phil and Karen to let us come and stay with them.

Also, there is a new baby in the family. Kyles niece, Brittney had a little girl on October 11th. Her name is Alameda Joy Gali. Welcome Alameda.
(Proud Grandma Virginia)

I think Bailey looks so beautiful in this picture with all the bright colors. This is the newest member of the family:Alameda

3 months

Bailey is now 3 months and 3 weeks old. She is growing and developing every single day. These past few days have really been fun, minus the no sleep. I am back to work now. The first shift I cried all the way to work, but now its a little get away for me to be with adults and have real conversations. Kyle has been doing great with Bailey and they get those 2 shifts a week to bond with each other. Bailey has discovered her vocal cords just a little. She has started blowing the bubbles and babbling. It is so cute to sit behind her and watch her. She will just stare at the ceiling and talk for a good 10 minutes or so. Also, now when Bailey wakes up in the middle of the night, I go in and try to rock her back to sleep or nurse her. While nursing she will pull away and look up into my eyes and smile SO big. Like shes not even tired. I can't help but start laughing which makes her smile even more and longer. These first 3 months have been difficult due to her colic but now I see relief is on its way. I also think part of her problem is that she isn't eating enough. We started feeding her more and WOW, she's been happier. lol. While talking with girls from work, I discovered that I only produce a 1/3 of what they produce. Dang, I've been starving my child!!! haha. Sorry Bailey, I know you will forgive me though. Here are a few pictures of her smiling away. Man, she's so dang cute.

Oh yea, on September 19th she rolled from her belly to her back 3 times in a row but won't do it again. I set her down on her play mat the other day and then went to make breakfast, when I got back she was on the complete opposite side of the mat. My girl is sneaky sneaky and won't let her mommy enjoy watching her roll over.

Birthday

So Happy Birthday to me 2 weeks ago. I turned 23 on the 13th which was a Sunday. My good friend Annalee's birthday was the 9th so we planned way back when that we would go to the Utah State Fair for our birthdays. Allie and her sister came up from New Harmony and we all went to Tucanos for lunch and then off to the fair. We had a good time minus the moments where Bailey cried and cried, but whats new. lol. Shes cute anyways. Best part of the fair was when I went on a ride and left Bailey with Annalee and she started crying. She decided to hold her and when doing so, Bailey decided to let her bowels go and bam. So I get off the ride and Annalee tells me that she might be poopie, so I leaned down to smell her and I said, "yea, I think she is." So Annalee pulls her away and there was bright green slimy poo all down Annalee's shirt and all over Bailey. hahahah. She was a good sport about it and it came off easily with a baby wipe.
Anyways, we left the fair and Allie and her sister Megan stayed the night at my house. My actual birthday was on Sunday so that day we just relaxed and our families came over that night for cobbler and brownies. It was a good weekend.

The following weekend Katy, Jason, Kyle and I went to the Boyz II Men concert, yes for the 3rd time. You can call us groupies if you want, I don't even care. I didn't even really take pictures b/c I have plenty of them, I just enjoyed the show. Bailey went with us and she enjoyed hearing the R&B music that she remembers from the womb. hee hee

Update with Bailey: She rolled over 3 times in a row from her belly to her back on September 18th. I was so excited I ran and called Kyle and then I tried to catch it on video but she is way too quick and then got real cranky and wouldn't perform again.
I took her back to the doctor today for a check up on her birthmarks. She has a another one covering the whole other side of her belly. Made an appointment with Primary Childrens Dermatologist.
She weighs 12 lbs 10 oz.
She LOVES her fists and I find herself choking herself b/c she is trying to place her whole fist in her mouth.
She loves the mornings and usually wakes up with all smiles.
When I talk to her she talks back and I swear she says "Hi". lol
She loves to watch sports with Kyle and I on the couch, really she just loves the TV.
Her hair looks like it is growing in red....oh dear!
She is getting more fun each day but is still colicy.

Here are just some of the latest pictures of her. She is so adorable and looks just like her daddy. I think she does have my big smile though.

2 Month update

Yes, Bailey is 2 months old already... I know, she is such a big girl. She is becoming more fun each and every day. I love being her mommy. I took her to the doctors yesterday for her 2 month check up.
weight: 11 lbs 50th percentile
length: 22.5 in 55 percentile
head: 39.5 75 percentile.
She has had an infection in her eye so we got some drops for that. Also, she had a birthmark show up at about 3 weeks old and then another huge one across her whole belly showed up a few weeks later. I called the Dr. and they said not to worry unless the kept growing. So then another showed up on her arm. When I took her in yesterday her pediatrician said he had never seen anything like it on a baby and went to get the other Dr. in the office to look. They both said..."Hum, interesting." They said they had never seen such large ones before. The Dr. then told me I should get a better evaluation from Primary Childrens Pediatricians just to make sure. I have 6 birthmarks so we are just hoping its hereditary but there is a neurological disease, where the only symtoms are multiple birthmarks. So hopefully everything will be okay with that. Kinda scary. Bailey then recieved her 4 vaccinations. I always see mothers crying with their babies when we give shots in the ER but never knew why...well now I do. I didn't cry but I was very close to it. You should have seen Baileys face. It was heart breaking. She only cried for a minute though and then just wimpered a little and then fell right to sleep and slept the rest of the day and night. She's my little tough girl.

  • Bailey is now trying to roll over every time I changer her diaper. This makes things a little more difficult.
  • She has never once had a little poo, this girl has talent and has major blow outs!! The only diapers that can handle her contents are the generics surprisingly, my wallet loves that! She pooped out of every single Pampers and Huggies diaper.
  • She loves her play mat. It is bright colored and has a sun that sings and lights up and she gets hypnotized by it she starts to whine because she can't look away. haha, its cute.
  • Usually every morning we have a nice long 2 way conversation with lots of smiles and cooing.
  • She has now slept 4 nights this week for 6-7 hours. I usually wake up automatically now but to my surprise, she is still sound asleep.
  • She's out of all her newborn clothes and fits most 3 months.
  • her feet are still extremely large and when I put her socks on, all her toes go in different directions and get stuck because they are so long. lol, like mother like daughter. Sorry hun!

Well, I have pictures I will add later, my batteries are dead so I can't upload them. I love being mom and I have to go back to work part-time in 2 weeks which is going to be so hard. I won't lie, I think I like 2 months old better than newborn. All I was was a milk machine then, but now I actually can interact with her and I feel us bonding more and more each day. I love every minute and look forward to every day with her. Who knew a heart could love so much.

Blessing Day

Sunday the 9th we decided to bless Bailey Mae Johnson. Since no one in my family except one brother could participate, I asked that he come out here. He gladly said yes and bought his ticket. His best friend Dave, which is kinda my adopted sixth brother decided he would come out as well. They both flew in on Thursday and my father also came out Thurday. I was very stressed for the weekend b/c we planned on feeding about 50 people for Sunday brunch. Anywho, we had to show my brother and Dave a good time so they went shooting, boating, b-balling, to a baseball game, and bagging. I think they had a good weekend. Sunday Kyle blessed Bailey and did a fantastic job. He was very nervous but pulled through in the end. Thank you for all those who came to support Bailey, Kyle and I.

Here are some pictures of Sunday afternoon.

Peggy Petersen made her blessing dress and it is so beautiful. Thank you!!

So you ask, What is bagging?? There is a place called Rock Canyon Park in Provo and its a huge bowl. This is where everyone goes sledding in the winter time. Well in the summer time, they turn the sprinklers on every night around 10pm. So you go buy the heavy duty trash bags and tear a hole for your head and arms and place them on. Then, you get a running start and slide down the steep hill on your belly, back, or like Morgan did, you can roll 100 times down the hill. lol. Its a natural slip and slide and it is a BLAST!!
