Update of my life!

Wow, Its been a while!
Kyle: Kyle last month was offered a job with his company in Corporate Office as a National Marketing Manager in Clearwater, FL. We debated taking the job for over a week and everything was working out perfect. It was almost a YES until the guy called back and told us how much the position paid. It would be about the same he makes now BUT I wouldn't be able to work because it was a full time travel job. So we would be losing out on my income so therefore, we would be taking a significant pay cut. We were way bummed. We even had a cash offer on our house and we weren't even trying to sell it. Anyways, we are still here in our cute little home doing the same job and traveling to Disney next week.

Heather: I am still working at the ER. I'm a busy mom of two crazy busy kids. Yep, that about sums up my life.

Bailey: Bailey is 5 and started Kindergarten this August. She is kinda loving school. As we all know she loves to be dramatic. She tells me everyday that she doesn't want to go to school but once she is there, she is very happy and does great at school. She was upset one day because she brought show n tell on the wrong day and the teacher told her she didn't listen and it wasn't her day and Bailey was so sad because she said she is the best kid in class and she ALWAYS listens!! It was cute. Bailey is in gymnastics and is trying to master her cartwheels. She is learning to read as well. She wears size 5/6 clothes, 11.5 shoe. weights about 43 lbs, and about 46 inches tall. Her hair is finally growing long and she has still never had a real haircut. I have trimmed the very very bottom a few times is all. She is a chocoholic and never wants to eat real food. She could drink milk all day if I let her. We have limited it to 3 cups a day. And she now has to do chores to earn her chocolate chips! She will sometimes eat Mac n cheese, grilled cheese, string cheese, and broccoli. Notice a theme to her foods?

Easton: Oh Easton. What a sweet little boy. He is now 2 1/2 and still drools through 3 shirts a day. He could still wear bibs full time but its a little embarrassing. He is obsessed with Baseball! And also loves basketball, football, and anything else sporty. He also loves motorcycles, fire trucks, big trucks, red trucks, blue trucks, buses, airplanes, helicopters, ambulances, and anything that moves. He loves his little red balance bike and helmet and rides it every day. He wears his helmet to play baseball and even in the car. He still isn't the clearest of talkers but I think he has a lazy tongue hence the drooling issue. He stopped drinking milk when I took the bottle away and now will only drink apple juice in a sippy cup. He wants it at all hours of the day and asks all day long in the cutest voice if he can have "more apple juice Mommy?" He is very polite. He always says Thank you to everyone. Its the sweetest thing. Easton wears size 2/3 and size 8 shoe. He weighs 33 lbs and he likes to eat hamburger helper, baby food, cheese, mac n cheese, oatmeal, sausage, and anything that is not vegetables. When we find something he likes, he will eat SO much. Its amazing how much this kid can throw down. He is very OCD about his routine. He has to have his blanket and binky attached to his left shoulder, he has to sit in the middle couch cushion with nothing touching it. When he runs through the kitchen and a drawer is out of place, he stops and closes it, and then keeps running. He cleans up the bath toys before getting out, and hates trash on the floor. He is my neat boy. He loves to cuddle with mommy and his favorite song is La La Loo! It almost mesmerizes him. He is still sleeping in his crib and is not potty trained but will pee on the toilet every time I sit him on the toilet. He lost his front tooth a few months ago by hitting it on the crib so that was great, Not! He still doesn't have his back molars. He wakes up in the mornings and we turn on cartoons and he will sit and watch them while we go back to bed for a lil bit. He is such a chill kid and I couldn't have asked for a better son.

We are thinking about having another little bambino here soon. So maybe there will be another update soon!

Easton 18 months

Easton at 18 months:

He loves to:
Play baseball most, but also likes any sport with a ball. Basketball, soccer, football, tetherball. He has a ball and bat in his hands all day long. If he sees the sport on TV, he cheers and throws up his hands. He will squat down and hit a ball and then run around the couch like it is bases.

He is the sweetest little child. He still loves to cuddle with his mommy. He used to sleep through the night until about a year old. Now he wakes up once or twice a night and just wants us to hold him. We usually will give him a bottle, hug him, and lay him back down.

Words he can say: Uh-oh, Mama, Dada, shoes, ball, cheese, Ouch

He started walking at 13 months old. He is very bow legged. I will ask the Dr. if he needs to wear braces at night because his whole leg is turned inward.

He eats a lot, but is picky about what he eats. He doesn't like for us to feed him anymore. He has to spoon feed himself. Favorite foods: string cheese, mac n cheese, hot dogs, ravioli, sausage, hashbrowns, noodles, and all baby food. He doesn't really love vegetables like Bailey did.

He is obsessed with shoes. He loves wearing them and will always go find them in the closet and bring them to me. He will sit in my lap and say SHOES....until I put them on.

He weighs 28 lbs. Size 18-24 month clothes, size 6 shoes. Still drools like CRAZY! he has 8 teeth. 4 top, 4 bottom. White hair. Chunky thighs. He still has nasty respiratory issues. I think all winter he will have a yucky gunky cough and runny nose.

He is only taking one nap a day. And even some days that is hit or miss. He always poops at nap time and that prolongs him falling asleep. His bed time is 7:30 and wakes up about 8:00am

Hospitalization

November 5th, 2012, I took Easton into the Dr. because he has been sick ever since Disneyland which was October 5th! He was getting worse and he was having a hard time breathing. I had worked the night before and when I got home, he had a barking cough. I kept checking on him. In the morning, he had retractions and a fever. Thats when I called and brought him in. Our Dr. wasn't in the office yet so I saw his partnering Dr. He listened to his lungs and said that he sounded horrible. We did a breathing treatment and it didn't help his wheezing at all. Dr. then came back in and told me that he was going to direct admit him to the hospital! FOR REAL!!!??? I was NOT prepared for that! I just wanted some steroid for his cough or something. I was a lil upset and told him that I didn't think it was necessary! lol He told me it was!! So I took Easton, Bailey, and myself to Timpanogos Hospital and started making phone calls! Kyle came and picked up Bailey and my mom watched her at our home for the next 3 days!!! UGH!
We got checked in and hooked up to monitors. His vitals were: Respirations:80, O2 at 90% while awake and 86% while sleeping.  Respiratory came in and suctioned Easton and sent to off. It came back positive for RSV! He was only the second child of the year in their hospital with it! Great....felt so special! After they found out he was +RSV, they had to gown up every time they walked in the room....which was A LOT!! I never thought about it, but I almost felt offended when they were so cautious to touch my cute lil sweet boy! haha.
The next 3 days included a lot of monitoring, suctioning, oxygen, weighing diapers, hospital meals, and 1:1 time with my sweet boy! Because he was sooooo happy and sweet while in the hospital, it made it kind of like a little get-a-way! We just hung out and enjoyed time together!
November 6th was Voting day! Since I followed the candidates so closely, I really wanted to VOTE! And, it was my first time ever! I desperatly pleaded on Facebook for someone to bring me soap and shampoo so I could shower! Then I texted all the people I knew without children to see if someone wanted to come sit with Easton so I could run and vote! Luckily, people stepped in and helped me!
So the 3rd day, when Dr. Clayton came to check on us, he wanted us to stay another day! I told him that I would work my magic and I would take care of my lil guy at home! Luckily Kyle works at Lincare and I work in the ER. Between the two of us, we had all the equipment that the hospital was using, so we could monitor at home. The Dr. told me he trusted me to take good care of him so he allowed us to leave :) Kyle brought home a pulse oximeter to monitor him while sleeping and I just ran him in before bed and suctioned his nose! It still took him a few days to be worry free, and even a few weeks to get rid of his nasty wet cough. Needless to say, It was a rough lil bit.
The worst part......THE BILLS!!!! We are fortunate to have health insurance, but it is SUCKY!!! Our plan is 70/30, and we have NO MAX out of pocket!! Are you kiding. We keep getting bills. I think at this point we have paid $1,800 for 3 days in the hospital and 3 follow up appointments in the office!!!! REALLY? All they did was monitor him....GOSH! haha, okay, my son is alive and healthy, and that's all that matters!

6 months

Easton turned 6 months old this week.
He has been sick most of this month. He has a cold and cough, then got over it, then got a new one with Croup cough as well. So fun....NOT!! Poor kid is just a wet mess all the time.

He is kinda getting out of the newborn stage and getting into more infant cuteness. Although he is taking his sweet time on a few things :)
He is so chill and he is just happy the way he is. He loves to be held and cuddled. He hasn't quite figured out how to sit up by himself yet, or roll over. But thats okay right? They say boys are a lil slower than girls.
He just started eating foods and he is loving it. Somedays he still struggles on swallowing it and loves to push it out, but we are practicing.
He reaches for everything now! It's cute because it's almost like he forgets that he can, and then he will remember, and then grab for it REAL fast!! Catches you off gaurd.
His smile is electricfing! He works up into his smile, and it's beautiful and so contagious. He has huge dimples, just like his daddy.
He has been stuggling with sleeping this month due to being sick. He was sleeping all night till about 5 or 6 am but now is waking up a few more times.
He is finally packing on the pounds too. His thighs are so chubby and I just want to squeeze them all day! He loves his toes, reaching for my eyes and nose, and adores his big sister!!
When Bailey walks in the room, he gets a huge smile on his face. It doesn't matter what she is doing. She could be  dancing, playing with her toys, jumping on his belly, or hitting him in the head with a toy, and he still has a smile on his face!!!
We are practicing on his giggles too. Kyle can seem to get more out of him than I can.
He loves to be outside and looking up at all the trees and leaves!
Man, I love my lil boy. He is such a sweetheart! He melts my heart and I love to just sit and cuddle and stare into his eyes!

Easton.....Momma loves you! Please stay as sweet and calm as you are :)

4 months!

Easton is 4 months now! I have made it through the hardest part, so they say! Some things about Easton:
He found his toes this last week. Everytime I change his diaper and brings his toes up, it's like he is seeing his best friend for the first time! He gets a great big smile and hangs on tight.
He loves to smile. I like to say his smile grows. It starts small and then grows into a huge, contagious smile.
He eats about 5 ounces every 2-3 hrs.
Poops once a day, usually blows out the sides
Sleeps, pretty good. Goes to bed about 9:30, sleeps till around 5, on a good day till 7 or 8, wakes up, drinks a bottle, goes back to bed till about 8:30. Awake for 2 hrs, back down for about an hour nap. Awake for 2-3 more hours, then takes about a 2 hour afternoon nap, scheduled around Bailey's nap. I love that he takes long naps b/c Bailey only would sleep in 30 min increments.
He loves to suck and chew on his fingers. Usually his two middle fingers.
He is happy when being held. I can now lay him down or in a bouncer for about 30 mins before he needs more lovin from someone.
Found his voice, loves to chit chat with us and sing along with Bailey's cartoons.

He is such a joy to have around. We love him to pieces. Bailey is very protective of him and needs to know where he is at all times. The other day we dropped him off at the babysitters and took her with us. She started balling b/c she thought we were going to leave him behind and wanted him back. She was so upset but we reassured her that we would be back for him.
