Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Christmas was a blast with a child, I have to say. Even though Bailey is still young it makes you think about life more and the real meaning of Christmas, and look forward to the years to come. I kept telling Bailey the story of the birth of Christ. It went something like this...

"So Bailey, guess what? We are about the celebrate the birth of Christ, thats what Christmas is all about. And Mary rode into town on a donkey, 9 months pregnant!! I'm sure that wasn't very comfortable. And then they tried to get a room at the Inn, and no one would let her in, so she had to give birth in a stable...with animals all around her, with no epidural, and laying on hay! OUCH, I bet that hurt. I can't imagine giving birth that way. I wonder if she was cranky, being all dirty like that and that animals making all that noise? Well, she managed I guess because she gave natural child birth to our Savior, Jesus Christ, and he was healthy and happy. Thank goodness. Boy Bailey, I'm sure grateful for modern day medicine and a nice hospital room that was clean!"

So to say the least, it got me thinking of everything I'm blessed with and so grateful for everything I have in my life.
Anyways, My dad came into town 2 days before Christmas. Then we had a big Christmas Eve dinner at my house with me cooking my 1st turkey, with my dads help. Dinner was wonderful. My mom was there too so my parents spend most the night otgether in the same room. I was very impressed with them both, they did great, with a little awkwardness, lol. Then we all opened one present and hung out, played Wii till the wee hours of the morning. We woke up Christmas morning and had breakfast and then sat down to open gifts. We put Bailey down for a nap so we could get through most of Christmas. Then she woke up and we let her open her gifts. She would hold onto the paper and I would turn the box so all the paper would come off.
My mom made it over around 2 and we opened her gifts. I gotta love my mom's gift giving, you never know what you're going to get. lol. Then we just hung out the rest of the day and relaxed and ate left overs.

Kyles first time carving a turkey, he was so proud!
Our Little Family
Bailey's first gift!
This is what Morgan and Heidi got for her.
This is what you get when I go to work and Kyle plays dress up with Bailey. Notice her adorable cowgirl boots I found at Savers for $3.50!!!

New Years:We got invited over to our friends house, Phil and Karen. We ate awesome food all night, played games, they had a tanning bed so I got a sun tan while Kyle hung out in the hot tub, and then we welcomed in the new year. Bailey was so good for us and we had a blast.

Bailey has totally picked up onm rolling over. This is how I found her after a trip to the restroom. She is getting so fun and so interactive. I love this age. By far, the best.
She rolled over and her bow fell down, she was trying to look at me through the lace, I thought it was so cute.

Flash game.

We also took Bailey to the Rec Center and took her swimming for the first time. She LOVED the water which I was surprised b/c it was way too cold for me. Her lips were purple but she didn't seem to mind.

Although this was a wonderful holiday season, we had to take time to think about my best friends baby who would have been a year old on December 29th. He passed away after only 5 days on this earth. He was adorable and very loved. Even though he was here for a short time, he made miracles happen and brought families closer together. Katy and Jason were sealed to Keegan on his one year birthday and I was blessed to be a part of that and feel his wonderful spirit in the temple. We love you Keegan! You are always in our thoughts. Katy is now pregnant with a baby girl and will be here in a month!!!

Seriously so cute! Thanks for my comment btw, (that's the only reason why you're getting one) JK!! JK!! Ha ha the real reason why you're getting one is because I'm sitting here laughing my bum off at your "Birth of Christ" story you told Bailey. Ha ha I'm still laughing at the "no epidural" part because I can totally hear you saying it with emphasis. Very funny. And I loved all the pics, cute ones at the rec! I totally want one :(

Heather! I got your message :) I'll talk to my mother in law when we get out there. She gets a little possessive of us when we go out there, and she may not be happy if I leave on a Saturday because that's one of the only days we'll all be together, but I'll talk to her and see what the plan is. I'll be DEVASTATED if I don't get to see you guys, so hopefully we'll work something out :) My number is 637-4238 if you need to call me.
